On Saturday, May 9th, Joel participated in the Area 32 Special Olympics "Miles for Medals". Even though the day was pretty cold....the attendance at the event was great and many athletes participated this year raising around $3,400 for Miles for Medals.
We were very proud of Joel and his enthusiasm for this event! Actually if you know Joel very well at all....you know he would be enthusiastic for every event he participated in!! We enjoyed watching the walk...and because it was so cold..I watched from inside Ken's truck! The cold didn't seem to bother the athletes...who kept up a very brisk pace:)
Congrats to Area 32 for a job well done....and congrats to our son Joel for great fund raising effort and his dedication to his team!
