Surgery Update

Mom's surgery was on Monday and went very well. She is a very healthy woman who endured the surgery just fine, and actually was quite alert shortly after recovery.

The results however were not what we we were expecting to hear.

In addition to the mastectomy, the surgeon removed the lymph nodes as well because they were cancerous. He stated to the family that it is an aggressive type of cancer that is usually found in women in their 30's, and it was not common in women Mom's age.

On Tuesday Mom had a CAT Scan (CT) and a bone scan. The bone scan came back negative which was a great relief for the whole family. The CT scan results will be known in a few days. The next step is Mom's recovery, which should be two or three weeks, followed by seeing an oncologist and receiving chemotherapy.

Thanks again for your love, prayers, and concern. We are truly blessed to have such a network of friends and family that we are able to call on in times like these.

But most important.....we have an awesome God who never leaves us or forsakes us.....who is our constant and abiding help in times of trouble! Praise God from who all blessings flow....even the blessings of a negative bone scan in the midst of a dark valley!
